started and where we're going
We've called Salt Lake City - in the mountains of the Western United States - our home since business began in 1994.
In the early 1990's, most of the facilities we serve were finding it next to impossible to recruit doctors. Desperate to find qualified medical personnel to work in his country, the President of the Rural Doctors Association in Australia got the notion to ask industry experts in the United States for some help. Everyone, from the bureaucrats to the Australians themselves, said it couldn't be done...
We rose to the challenge
The first doctors we sent to Australia hailed from the U.S. and Canada, and they were happy to use their medical skills and travel. They found the adventure alluring; and they saw it as an opportunity to take “working sabbaticals” Down Under.
Word of mouth spread. Requests from facilities came with increasing frequency. Before long, Global Medical was placing doctors all across the Land of Oz, then New Zealand and beyond.
Today, Global Medical has placed many thousands of top-caliber doctors in facilities throughout Australia and New Zealand, the U.S. and its territories, Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, the Caribbean, Canada, and the United Kingdom. We actively recruit doctors from the U.S., Canada and Europe; though we have also recruited doctors from such far-flung areas as Iceland, South Africa and Singapore. We now partner with a pool of over 60,000 physicians worldwide.

Global Medical Staffing is the single best resource for doctors looking for locum tenens assignments, and for medical facilities looking for doctors to fill their staffing needs.
We know that in order to accomplish our mission––to be the best damn locum tenens group in the world––we have to do much more than recruit. Every day, we make great matches with carefully screened doctors; we serve our doctors and our clients with integrity, honesty and respect; and we provide attentive support that enables us to build long-term relationships with our doctors and clients.
